The Strategic Navigation Layer for the Complete ThatDeveloperGuy Framework Library
This is the master reference tying together all framework documents in this library. It specifies what each framework covers, how they relate to each other, the order to implement them in, and which ones apply for which client engagement types. Use this as the entry point when starting any new client work.
Last refreshed: 2026-05-11 — adds Level 0 Architectural Doctrine (Content First Architecture). Content First is the build philosophy axiom that governs every other framework: semantic HTML is the substrate, the visual layer is a projection on top, AI crawlers and search engines extract the substrate, humans see the projection. Without it, the entire framework library is decoration applied to sites no bot can read. The doctrine framework framework-contentfirst.md is now the highest priority entry in the dependency graph and must be read before any other framework is invoked. Earlier 2026-05-05 added three cross-stack frameworks (Cross-Stack Implementation, React/SPA, Tailwind) so every pattern in the library can be applied across React, Vue, Svelte, Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Astro, Hugo, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and Tailwind CSS — not only plain HTML. Earlier this same date added the four foundational frameworks (Technical SEO, Schema, Page Experience, Internal Linking). All cross-references in this index resolve.

2. Framework Dependency Graph
Some frameworks depend on others being implemented first:
LEVEL 0 — ARCHITECTURAL DOCTRINE (read and applied before any Level 1 work):
Content First Architecture (framework-contentfirst.md)
Establishes the build philosophy: semantic HTML as substrate, visual
layer as projection. Every framework below presupposes this doctrine
is in place. Without it, the rest of the library is decoration applied
to sites no AI crawler can read.
LEVEL 1 — FOUNDATION (must be in place first):
Technical SEO (framework-technicalseo.md)
Page Experience (framework-pageexperience.md)
Schema & Structured Data (framework-schema.md)
Security (framework-security.md)
LEVEL 2 — CONTENT & ARCHITECTURE (built on Level 1):
Internal Linking (framework-internallinking.md)
Keyword Research (framework-keywordresearch.md)
E-E-A-T (framework-eeat.md)
Helpful Content System (framework-hcs.md)
Mobile SEO (framework-mobileseo.md)
LEVEL 3 — SPECIALIZED & OPTIONAL (based on business):
YMYL (framework-ymyl.md) — only if YMYL business
Local SEO (framework-localseo.md) — only if local-relevant
Image SEO (framework-imageseo.md) — especially visual industries
Video SEO (framework-videoseo.md) — only if video content
News SEO (framework-newsseo.md) — only if news/editorial publisher
Ecommerce SEO (framework-ecommerceseo.md) — only if ecommerce
International SEO (framework-international.md) — only if multi-region
LEVEL 4 — AUTHORITY BUILDING (requires Level 1-2):
Knowledge Graph (framework-knowledgegraph.md)
Entity Salience (framework-entitysalience.md)
AI Citations (framework-aicitations.md)
Multimodal Search (framework-multimodalsearch.md)
Agentic AI Search (framework-agenticaisearch.md)
Link Building (framework-linkbuilding.md)
Digital PR (framework-digitalpr.md)
Trust Signals (framework-trustsignals.md)
LEVEL 5 — MONITORING & MAINTENANCE (ongoing):
Spam Policies (framework-spampolicies.md)
Core Updates (framework-coreupdates.md)
SQRG (framework-sqrg.md)
Information Gain (framework-infogain.md)
Featured Snippets (framework-featuredsnippets.md)
Performance (framework-performance.md)
GA4 (framework-ga4.md)
GSC Analysis (framework-gscanalysis.md)
Reporting (framework-reporting.md)
Ongoing Audit (framework-ongoingaudit.md)
Competitor Audit (framework-competitoraudit.md)
Content Audit (framework-contentaudit.md)
LEVEL 6 — CONVERSION LAYER (overlay on indexed sites):
CRO (framework-cro.md)
UX SEO (framework-uxseo.md)
Form Optimization (framework-formoptimization.md)
Accessibility (framework-accessibility.md)
Voice Search (framework-voicesearch.md)
Visual Search (framework-visualsearch.md)
OPERATIONAL — used during specific events:
Initial Audit (framework-initialaudit.md) — new client onboarding
Migration (framework-migration.md) — site moves
Client Onboarding (framework-clientonboarding.md) — engagement starts
Pricing (framework-pricing.md) — quoting / packaging
PLATFORM — apply per technical stack:
WordPress, Next.js, Shopify, Webflow, Astro/Hugo, Headless,
Cross-Stack Implementation (bridge file — read once),
React / Vue / Svelte SPA (when CSR is unavoidable),
Tailwind CSS (overlays any of the above)
Level 0 note: Content First Architecture is the only Level 0 framework. It is the architectural axiom that governs every other framework in this library. Read framework-contentfirst.md before opening an editor on any new build. Verify adherence via the 30 point Content First Audit Rubric before considering any site ready for Level 1 Foundation frameworks. Retrofitting an existing visual first site to Content First takes priority over all other framework work because the rest of the library has no effect on a site whose content is invisible to AI crawlers.
Cross-stack note: every SEO pattern in this library was originally documented for plain HTML. Engineers working in React, Vue, Svelte, Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Astro, Hugo, WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow should read framework-cross-stack-implementation.md first — it translates every common pattern into each stack and is the cheapest way to onboard a build team without re-explaining the basics. Tailwind users add framework-tailwind.md. Pure CSR SPAs add framework-react.md.
3. Implementation Order for New Client Engagement
3.1 Standard Engagement Sequence
Phase 0: Doctrine and Engagement Initiation (Week 0-1)
- Read
framework-contentfirst.mdand internalize the architectural doctrine - Run Initial Audit (
framework-initialaudit.md) - Apply the Content First Audit Rubric (30 points) to the existing site or planned build
- Document findings, scoring, prioritization
- Present findings to client (include the Content First posture as a foundational discussion)
- Define engagement scope based on findings (use
framework-pricing.mdfor packaging) - Onboarding workflow (
framework-clientonboarding.md)
For retrofit engagements: any Content First Audit score below 22/30 means the architectural retrofit precedes all Level 1 Foundation work. There is no point optimizing Technical SEO, Page Experience, or Schema on a site whose content does not reach the AI crawler.
For greenfield engagements: Content First Architecture is applied from the first commit. The substrate is authored before the projection. The substrate is verified extractable before any other framework is layered on.

10. Known Future Build Opportunities
The four foundational frameworks called out in prior versions of this index — Technical SEO, Schema, Page Experience, Internal Linking — are now built (May 2026). Cross-references to them across the library now resolve.
Three cross-stack frameworks were also added (May 2026): framework-cross-stack-implementation.md, framework-react.md, framework-tailwind.md. Every existing framework that contains HTML code examples now has a cross-stack reference to translate those examples into React, Vue, Svelte, Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Astro, Hugo, WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow.
Level 0 Architectural Doctrine framework-contentfirst.md was added 2026-05-11 to codify the build philosophy that governs every other framework in the library.
Additional frameworks worth considering for future build, ranked by impact for ThatDeveloperGuy's client mix (NWA / SoMo local + ecommerce + b2b service + content publisher):
High priority (Joseph-specific niche):
framework-sdvosb.md— SDVOSB / federal contracting SEO. GSA Schedule, DUNS, federal buyer behavior, contracting compliance. Mentioned 58+ times across the library as Joseph's differentiator but not yet systematized.framework-multibrand.md— Managing multi-brand portfolios. Joseph operates 5 brands; cross-domain link strategy and entity disambiguation are non-trivial.
Medium priority (operational completeness):
framework-penaltydiagnosis.md— Penalty diagnosis when no manual action shows in GSC. Algorithmic suppression detection.framework-disavow.md— Toxic backlink remediation specifically. Currently scattered across Link Building.framework-reputation.md— Reputation management broader than Local SEO reviews. Brand monitoring, false-information correction, crisis response.framework-conversiontracking.md— Conversion tracking across GA4, server-side tagging, attribution. Currently partial in GA4 framework.framework-attribution.md— Multi-touch attribution modeling.framework-editorialcalendar.md— Editorial calendar and content planning rhythm.framework-contentbrief.md— Content brief / topic brief templates.framework-topicresearch.md— Topic research methodology.framework-contentlifecycle.md— Refresh / retire / consolidate decisions. Some overlap with existingframework-contentaudit.md.framework-contentsyndication.md— Syndication strategy.
Low priority (specialized, optional):
framework-emailmarketing.md— Email's intersection with SEO.framework-socialmedia.md— Social signals reality (mostly limited).framework-prseo.md— PR and SEO alignment beyond Digital PR.framework-crisisseo.md— Crisis SEO when things go wrong publicly.framework-seoethics.md— White / gray / black hat boundaries.
Operational tooling (future):
framework-qualitycontrol.md— Ensuring frameworks applied consistently across the agency.framework-documentation.md— Documenting client work.framework-projectmgmt.md— SEO project management.framework-toolstack.md— Tool stack decisions.framework-aitools.md— AI tools for SEO use.
These represent ongoing build opportunities. Some are partial overlaps with existing frameworks; others are genuinely new territory.
